Chaos Frame (CF) is a numerical representative of how the people see you. You
can not see this number till after you beat the game. How you affect the Chaos
Frame is how you choose the storyline. Yes, there are multiple storyline paths,
in case you did not know. Chaos Frame decides what characters may join your
cause and of course your overall ending, yes there are multiple endings in case
you were unaware (not sure how many yet).So how exactly is Chaos Frame affected?
There are many ways to change Chaos Frame, some have more affect then others
...and no, I do not know the weight scale but I can tell you what affects Chaos
Frame. By the way, Chaos Frame is a controversal subject to many OB players.
Since I did not program this game, this is only what I believe up to this point.
1) Liberating/Capturing Towns - Before you go to
liberate a town, view the town's morale so can decide which unit to send. To
increase CF, send Lawful units (Ali scale tipped to right w/ L) to towns w/
66-100 morale; Neutral units (Ali scale perferably not tipped any direction w/
N) to towns w/ 45-65 morale; and Chaotic units (Ali scale tipped to left w/ C)
to towns w/ 0-44 morale. Now when I say a Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic unit, I am
talking about the Leader's Alignment. There is NO unit Ali! In the beggining of
the game, you most likely will not have pure Lawful or Chaotic (scale reads 'L'
or 'C') units so send units whose Leader's Ali best reflects the needed Ali/
requirement as this will lead to 'Liberation' (raises CF). Do the opposite,
sending a Lawful unit to a town with a morale of 10, and it will be 'Captured'
(lowers CF). Also, try your hardest to liberate ALL of the towns during the
battle. Yes, it automatically liberates/captures all the towns when you capture
the enemy's headquarters but for a higher CF, liberate them manually during
battle. If you want a lower CF, just reverse everything I said.
2) Magnus' Alignment - If you want a high CF, get
Magnus' Ali as high as possible. If you question why I believe this, re-read
what I said Chaos Frame is. Alignment is how your character views the world
around him/her. If it is high, or lawful, then your character has a high regard
for life and the people around him/her. If it is low, then that character has
little to no respect for life and other people. Magnus' is the main character
(you), so try your hardest to make his Ali high ...that is if you want a high
Ali. Read the Ali section for tips in doing this. Now I am not sure if ALI is in
fact a factor in determing Chaos Frame. It was in the first Ogre Battle (March
of the Black Queen). So far another OB player, biggswedge, got a CF of 100 and
also had high ALI for Magnus (extreme Lawful). I can not prove this... yet, but
I believe that Magnus' ALI may have some factor in which special characters join
you, and since recruiting special characters affects CF, so does ALI in a round
about way ...but maybe not directly, or maybe directly (don't know yet).
3) Decisions - This probably has the biggest
factor on your CF, maybe w/ Magnus' Ali 2nd or tied. There are quite a few
decisions in the game that can make you look good and many that won't. Sometimes
the right the decision is not always the most popular so decisions can be hard.
If you want a high CF, try and do what you believe is the right thing. Don't
forget to take all things into consideration. Pay attention to what people say
because sometimes what may seem like an innocent act is really a bad judgement
call.
4) Special Characters - Obtaining what I call
'Special Characters' (like Destin, Aisha, Saradin, etc.) are important to your
CF. Why? Think of it of this way... those characters may play a big part in the
storyline ending.
5) Special Items - When someone in the game says
that it might be a wise thing to get a certain item, most likely it is a wise
thing to do. Example? The Elem Pedras.
6) Area Inspection - Investigate areas after you
cleared them. Sometimes important events and items await your return. A good
habit is to 'Enter Stronghold' multiple times b/c sometimes town's people say
different things on multiple returns and sometimes depending on the unit you
send, not all the time mind you.
